International Politics and Law BA Honours

3 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

Middlesex University London

Program Overview

In this course, you will examine the international political and legal processes and organizations, along with various political and legal systems worldwide. Additionally, you will study the key ideas, concepts, theories, and practices of politics and law.

The program will begin with an introduction to fundamental concepts of politics and political ideologies, as well as international development concerns. This will be balanced with an introduction to law and legal skills, including public law. You will then progress to a more in-depth study of international political theories and concepts, as well as the international legal foundation of human rights, and how they relate to the broader social, economic, and political context in which they operate. Lastly, you will combine your understanding of public international law with theories of global and regional geopolitics, statecraft, and legal practice in international politics.

By the end of the course, you will possess the ability to analyze information and relevant research from various sources and critically evaluate the principles, values, and ideologies that underlie different perspectives on politics and law. Moreover, you will demonstrate independent critical thinking skills that will enable you to explore further areas of interest within these subjects, whether through continued study or engagement with current issues and debates.
