LLB Hons Law

3 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

University of Greenwich

Program Overview

You will explore key areas of legal knowledge, including public law, land law, equity and trusts, contract law, criminal law, and tort law. In your final year, you will have the opportunity to tailor your studies by selecting from a diverse range of specialist modules, such as commercial law, intellectual property law, financial services law, and international law.

With strong connections to legal and related employers in London, you will benefit from various employability events, including guest lectures, networking opportunities, and career workshops. As a law student, you can apply to gain hands-on experience by working alongside volunteer lawyers on real cases at the university’s Legal Advice Centre or by contributing to the Innocence Project London, helping to investigate potential miscarriages of justice.

Experiential Learning (Research, Projects, Internships etc.)

⚖️ Legal Advice Centre

Students can volunteer at the university's Legal Advice Centre, providing free one-off advice on employment, family, and housing law issues via video conferencing. Under the supervision of qualified lawyers, students gain hands-on experience in client interviews, legal research, drafting, and professional conduct. This experience not only enhances practical lawyering skills but also counts towards Qualifying Work Experience (QWE) for aspiring solicitors. UCAS+4University of Greenwich+4The Student Room+4

🏛️ External Legal Placements

Through the Legal Placement module, typically undertaken in the third year, students engage in placements with external organizations such as law firms, local authority legal departments, and community law centers. These placements provide real-world legal experience, allowing students to apply their knowledge in professional settings and develop essential skills sought by employers. University of Greenwich

🕊️ Innocence Project London

The university hosts the Innocence Project London, a law clinic and registered charity where students work on cases involving potential miscarriages of justice. This initiative offers a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful legal work, developing investigative and analytical skills while contributing to the broader legal community. University of Greenwich

🎤 Mooting and Mock Trials

Students can participate in mooting competitions and mock trials, honing their public speaking, legal research, and advocacy skills. These activities simulate real court proceedings, providing a platform to practice legal arguments and receive feedback, thereby enhancing courtroom readiness. University of Greenwich

🌍 Study Abroad Opportunities

The Study Abroad LLB Hons programme includes a year studying in Europe at one of the university's partner institutions. This experience broadens students' legal perspectives, exposes them to different legal systems, and develops transferable skills such as adaptability and cross-cultural communication. University of Greenwich

The university's Employability and Careers Team supports students in securing internships and placements.
