Pharmacology involves the study of drugs and their effects on the body. In our BSc Pharmacology program, you will gain an understanding of how drugs are manufactured into medicines and how they interact with different levels of the body, such as the molecular, cellular, and systemic levels.

Pharmacologists play a critical role in the development of drugs and vaccines that have significantly improved the treatment of various modern diseases. These include antibiotics for bacterial infections, anti-retroviral drugs for HIV, antidepressants and antipsychotics for mental health, and statins and antihypertensives for cardiovascular diseases.

If you aspire to a career in the pharmaceutical industry or biomedical research, or wish to pursue graduate entry to medicine, the BSc Pharmacology course would be a suitable choice for you.
