Program Overview

The BSc (Hons) in Evolutionary Biology deals with the theory of evolution, evolutionary genetics, environmental physiology, terrestrial and aquatic ecology, evolution of behaviour, biodiversity and conservation, human evolution, and evolutionary ecology. The BSc in Evolutionary Biology is a four-year course run by the School of Biology. Evolutionary Biology at St Andrews provides students with high-tech equipment, laboratories and expertise to facilitate learning and to develop the skillset of a modern evolutionary biologist.

A minimum average of 90% (with 90% or higher in any prerequisite subjects) in Standard XII examinations, or A1-A2 if you are taking examinations used by Central Boards, SQA Highers:AAAB, including Biology (or Human Biology) and one other science, GCE A-Levels: AAB, including Biology (or Human Biology) and one other science, IB points:36, including HL6 in Biology and HL6, IELTS score of 6.5, with a minimum score of 6.0, TOEFL (IBT) of 92 overall with at least 20 in all components, CAE/CPE of 176, PTE (Academic) of 62 overall with at least 59 in each component
