Program Overview

The BSc (Hons) Physics with Philosophy at the University of Lincoln combines rigorous scientific training with deep philosophical inquiry. Year 2
You’ll advance into more complex areas of study. Year 3
In your third year, you’ll tackle advanced physics topics such as Quantum Mechanics, Statistical Mechanics and Quantum Physics, and Physics of the Universe, alongside philosophy modules like Contemporary Problems in Philosophy and Applied Ethics. Optional modules such as Fluid Dynamics, Newton’s Revolution, or Indian Philosophy allow you to tailor your studies to your interests.

Year 4
Your final year culminates in a major Individual Project, supervised by research-active staff and often linked to external collaborating institutions. You’ll also study advanced modules such as Lagrangian and Hamiltonian Mechanics, Cosmology, and specialist philosophy courses like Philosophy of Mental Illness or Science Education Placement, integrating scientific and philosophical perspectives in your research.
