Program Overview

BA (Hons) Communication and Society and Philosophy at Nottingham Trent University offers the chance to study two fascinating subjects within a unique joint honours programme. The course invites you to explore how communication builds society, culture, and human relationships and invites you to engage in debate about philosophical ideas that challenge the way we think about ethics, truth, identity, and reality. The course is designed to equip students with a broad-based knowledge of social issues, cultural tendencies, and critical thinking in great demand in today's complex world.

Curriculum Structure
The curriculum incorporates theoretical knowledge with practical analysis. The core modules are:
Communication and Society Modules – Topics from media influence, public opinion, online culture, political communication, and global media systems.
Philosophy Modules – Core philosophical questions in ethics, metaphysics, logic, political philosophy, and philosophy of mind.
Research Skills and Critical Analysis – Know how to read, evaluate, and present sophisticated arguments effectively.
Independent Project or Dissertation – A third-year research project in which you explore a topic of your choice, synthesizing knowledge acquired in both subjects.
