Program Overview

This program is designed for students with strong mathematical abilities and a keen interest in economic theory and data analysis. It combines rigorous training in economics, mathematics, and statistics to equip students with the skills to apply mathematical and statistical methods to solve real-world economic problems.

Year 1 – Fundamentals & Foundations

  • Microeconomics I, Macroeconomics I, Economic Reasoning
  • Econometrics I, Statistical Theory, Mathematical Methods
  • LSE100 interdisciplinary course

Year 2 – Intermediate Theory & Methods

  • Econometrics II, Microeconomic Principles, Macroeconomic Principles
  • Further Mathematical Methods

Year 3 – Advanced Applications & Specialization

  • Econometric Theory, Game Theory
  • Quantitative Economics Thesis or Applied Econometrics Project
  • Optional modules: Public Economics, Game Behaviour, Operational Research, Optimization Modelling, Philosophy of Economics, Probability & Inference​

Teaching Methods: Lectures, seminars, group tutorials, and independent study.

Assessment: Written examinations, coursework, assessed essays, presentations, and a final-year quantitative thesis.
