Program Overview

The course will equip you with the skills to analyze complex economic issues by exploring core economic theories and empirical methods, along with their real-world applications. You will examine the economy's key sectors (business, finance, government) and their impact on decision-making processes.

Year 1, you will study microeconomic and macroeconomic theories while developing essential skills in mathematics, statistics, data analysis, and coding.
Year 2 expands on these foundations with advanced economic theory, econometrics, and tools for forecasting and estimating economic trends.
Year 3, you will have the flexibility to choose specialized modules that align with your interests and career goals.

The course offers teaching from experienced staff with diverse expertise, providing access to industry-standard software for real-time data analysis. It emphasizes the development of professional skills such as critical thinking, quantitative analysis, communication, and adaptability, preparing you for employment and further academic pursuits.

Learning and Assessment:

The course utilizes a combination of lectures, seminars, tutorials, and workshops for learning, alongside assessments including essays, exams, presentations, and reports.

Contact hours in the first year typically range from 12 to 15 hours per week. The majority of teaching is in-person, supported by online resources and supplementary activities. Independent learning will increase in later years, especially with projects or dissertations.

Assessments are designed to test knowledge and skills, with 50% to 75% of the course assessed through exams and 25% to 50% through essays, reports, and presentations. Final degree classification is based on the second and final-year marks, contributing 32% and 68%, respectively.

Course Structure:

The course requires completion of 120 credits (60 ECTS credits) each academic year, typically divided equally across two semesters. The 120 credits represent 1,200 hours of study, including both contact time and independent learning. Changes may occur in response to student feedback, research developments, and accrediting body requirements.
