Curriculum Structure

Year 1: Building Your Foundations

In your first year, you’ll get a solid grounding in international relations, exploring the big ideas that shape global politics. Core modules like Introduction to International Relations, Global Politics, and Political Theory introduce key concepts, while optional modules such as Comparing Cultures and Introduction to Cultural Studies let you see how politics connects with society and culture.

Year 2: Diving Deeper

The second year gives you the chance to specialize and develop analytical skills. Through modules like International Political Economy, Conflict and Security, and International Organizations, you’ll start to analyze how global systems operate. Optional modules such as Politics of Happiness and Studying Political Economy: Ideas, Theories and Skills allow you to explore topics that interest you most.

Year 3: Independent Research and Advanced Study

In your final year, you’ll tackle complex global issues and produce your own research project or dissertation. Modules such as Global Governance, International Law, and Foreign Policy Analysis challenge you to apply what you’ve learned, think critically, and form your own insights into world affairs.
