The first year of the program provides a foundational understanding of the four key areas and how they interrelate at an international level. The main focus is on introducing students to the key concepts and theories of international politics, social scientific perspectives on global issues, global development concerns, and issues related to globalization and governance.
In the second year, students take three core modules that delve deeper into theories of international relations, global political economy perspectives, and research methods training in preparation for their final year dissertation. Additionally, students choose one of two option modules in Year 2.
The final year emphasizes independent study through the completion of a dissertation and a focus on geopolitical perspectives in a core module.
