Curriculum Structure
Year 1
In your first year, you’ll be introduced to all three disciplines: courses such as Understanding Politics, Problems of Philosophy A & B, and Introduction to the Study of Religion A & B build solid foundations. You’ll also begin exploring the relationships between belief systems and political life in modules that encourage you to ask critical questions from day one.
Year 2
During the second year, you’ll have more choice and depth. You might take topics like Global Politics, Philosophy of Religion, or Ethics and Contemporary Issues, depending on your interests. You’ll also engage in interdisciplinary modules, combining political analysis with religious and philosophical perspectives, while getting closer to choosing your specialization.
Year 3
In your final year you’ll dive into advanced modules and complete a major research project or dissertation. You’ll pick modules in your preferred area—say, Violence and Religion, Political Theory & Practice, or Modern Ethics—and bring your own ideas to the fore in your dissertation, showing you can tackle complex topics on your own.
