Program Overview:
This three‑year, BPS-accredited degree explores how athletes and exercisers think, feel, and behave, blending core psychological theory with real-world applications in sport and physical activity. You’ll gain expertise in human behaviour within sporting and fitness contexts, preparing for careers in sports psychology, coaching, or health promotion.

Curriculum Structure
Year One
Year one covers foundational modules such as Introduction to Sports Psychology, Psychology of Exercise and Health, the core areas of psychology including biological, cognitive, developmental, and social psychology, as well as Research Methods. These establish your grounding in psychology applied to sport and wellbeing.

Year Two 
In year two the programme builds on this with topics like Psychological Assessment and Strategies for Athletes, Behaviour Change, Advanced Research and Professional Skills, and deeper explorations of cognition and development in sport.

Year Three
Year Three allows you to specialise through options like Advanced Sport Psychology Practice and Critical Issues in Sport Psychology, along with modules such as Psychology of Mental Health, Brain and Behaviour, or Occupational Psychology. You’ll also complete a supervised Research Project.

Placement Option:
A sandwich year between the second and third year is available, offering professional experience or a study abroad opportunity to enhance your employability and applied knowledge.

Learning Outcomes:
