3 Years On Campus Bachelors Program
Program Overview:
This three-year undergraduate degree offers a balanced blend of psychology and criminology, exploring both individual behaviour and societal responses to crime. With accreditation by the British Psychological Society (BPS), graduates earn the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC), positioning them for psychology-related careers or further study.
Curriculum Structure
Year One
You’ll start by studying fundamental topics including Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Criminological Theory, Criminal Justice, and Research Design and Analysis 1, covering essential theory and the foundations of psychological inquiry.
Year Two
Modules include Identities in Psychology, Mind, Brain and Development, and Research Design and Analysis 2, with optional choices such as Criminal Psychology and Youth Crime & Justice. This year integrates criminological themes with developmental and cognitive psychology.
Year Three
In your final year, you’ll undertake a Psychology Project and can select from optional topics like Forensic Psychology, Cognitive Neuropsychology, Clinical Aspects of Mental Health, Psychology and Social Justice, or modules in criminology such as Victims and Victimology, Organised Crime, Policing & Public Order, among others. This enables you to tailor your learning to specific interests and complete a major independent research project.
Placement Option:
You can choose a four-year “sandwich” pathway, including a placement year between Years Two and Three to gain professional or work-based experience.
