Sociology with Criminology BA Honours

3 Years On Campus Bachelors Program

Middlesex University London

Program Overview

The course has been meticulously designed to introduce students to sociological and criminological concepts. In the first year, you will complete two term-long modules to establish a firm foundation in sociological principles. You will also be introduced to key theories and themes that will be further explored and expanded upon throughout the degree.

In the second year, you will deepen your understanding of current sociological concepts and how sociology can contribute to social change, both in the workplace and society. You may choose to concentrate on either race as a crucial contemporary criminological issue or the concept of victimology.

In your final year of study, you can select four optional modules from various areas, including different types of work-based learning, with at least one module from criminology. Additionally, you will undertake a dissertation that enables you to conduct an independent study on a theory or concept that interests you. Alternatively, you may choose to work on a project focused on a significant problem facing the world today and provide practical solutions.
