BA (Hons) Illustration (Top-Up)

The Illustration top-up programme is designed to equip you with specialized skills and knowledge required to advance your comprehension of visual communication and storytelling, working in creative industries, or potentially pursuing postgraduate study. As you would have already acquired the skills and qualifications for years 1 and 2 of the course in your previous programme, in year 3 with us, you will concentrate on enhancing your conceptual and technical abilities and refining your portfolio, specifically focusing on illustration.

Studio practice, specialist media workshops, lectures and seminars will be utilized to facilitate active learning and studio practice, enabling you to comprehend contemporary illustration practices. Furthermore, the course offers the opportunity to develop a self-initiated project based on your illustration interests and passions, while tutors will assign briefs, and other briefs may come from international competitions and public-facing collaborative projects.

You will have the chance to engage in live projects and participate in a paid professional field trip and cultural excursions. Visiting speakers and alumni will provide valuable insights into the profession as well as feedback on your work and portfolios.
