The Fine Art Painting & Drawing BA (Hons) course provides students with the opportunity to examine and investigate modern approaches to painting and drawing in a dynamic and intellectually stimulating environment that cannot be found in a multi-disciplinary fine art course. This Painting & Drawing course concentrates on painting and drawing equally, or as individual areas of focus. Additionally, students will be introduced to printmaking, which can be used in conjunction with painting and drawing, or as a separate discipline. The Fine Art Painting & Drawing BA (Hons) structure is designed to introduce students to a range of fresh concepts, techniques, and processes, providing them with an extensive extension of the potential of both painting and drawing.
The usual admission criteria apply, with a typical offer of: BCC at A-Level or, DMM at BTEC or, Pass (C or above) at T Level. In addition, applicants are expected to have studied art or a related subject at A-Level, BTEC, or an equivalent level. Foundation Diplomas in Art and Design are also accepted. Interviews are required, and applicants must provide a portfolio of their artwork and design. International students may submit their portfolio electronically. Students with a relevant HND or foundation degree, and a suitable achievement profile, may be admitted to year two or three. English Language Requirements All International and EU students applying for a course with us must meet the following minimum English language requirements: Minimum standard – IELT 6.0 (or equivalent) for study at undergraduate level.
