The University of NorthamptonThe Graphic Communication Design (Top-Up) BA (Hons) course enhances your previous knowledge and abilities to explore the communication of messages and ideas to diverse audiences using a range of media, highlighting the potential of design. The Top-Up programme aims to improve your critical understanding of communication, advance your creativity and professionalism, and expand your knowledge of how the Creative Industries work. The course will focus on discovering your individual interests, launching your career, and improving your commercial design skills. The programme encourages studio culture to promote creativity, collaboration, and discussion, which inspires individual design perspectives and prepares you for the professional industries. You will use various traditional techniques and evolving technologies to challenge image-making conventions and meaning. By engaging with real-world problems, commercial scenarios, and issues, you will develop critical, reflective, and professional skills to prepare you for the constantly changing creative industries.
To be considered for the Graphic Communication Design (Top-Up) BA (Hons), applicants are required to have studied a Graphic or related Art and Design subject at Foundation Degree/HND level or equivalent. Non-traditional qualifications and international applications are also welcome. Applicants must submit a digital portfolio of their Art and Design work and attend a 30-minute online interview with a member of the Graphic Communication Design team. Admission may also be subject to standard entry requirements. International and EU applicants must meet a minimum English language requirement of IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent) with a minimum score of 5.5 in all bands for undergraduate study.
