BA and BS Commercial Art

The commercial art program is accomplished in one of two ways: either by completing courses entirely at AU or for other concentrations not available at AU, through AU s affiliation with the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Graphic Design or Digital Video Production are both offered completely at Ashland University. Those choosing to attend the Art Institute of Pittsburgh spend their first two years at Ashland taking the foundations sequence and the university core requirements. Their junior year is usually spent at the Art Institute taking upper-level classes in one of the following areas of concentration: game art & design, graphic design, industrial design technology, interactive media design, interior design, media arts and animation, video production, photography or visual effects, and motion graphics. Students then return to Ashland for their senior year, receiving a baccalaureate degree upon graduation and a certification in their field.
