University History

 In 1878 Ashland College was founded as a private Christian university in Ashland, Ohio. On May 12, 1989, the name of the institution was changed to Ashland University. Ashland University has a rich tradition as a private, comprehensive institution preparing students for professions and careers. Ashland University’s motto is “Accent on the Individual”, which very well justifies the nature and campus environment.  The campus is spread across area of 150 acres. It utilizes a semester-based academic system.

Ashland Main Campus-

Ashland Downtown Education center-

 Ashland Downtown Education Center at Ashland University offers University’s Correctional Education program and partners with leading state DOCs and local jails to provide a transformative educational experience that brings hope and positive influence to the lives of students in the correctional environment. the program at the university help people to develop the whole person academically, spiritually, morally, so the student can actively live and work in our global society.

Cleveland Canter-

Cleveland Center at Ashland University is located in Independence, Ohio state. There are nearly four million residents of Northeast Ohio, who can earn several degrees easily right here in Cuyahoga County. The Cleveland Center offers various leading courses- Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Curriculum and Instruction as well as Educational Administration, Master of Divinity, and Professional Development Services for educators.

Elyria Center-

Elyria center at Ashland University offers a 2+2 program at Lorain County Community College in Elyria. If anyone want to save money and receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Education along with their Ohio Teaching License then they can spend their first two years at Lorain County Community College and finish at Ashland University's Elyria Program Centre via University Partnership.  The whole program is conveniently located at Lorain County Community College. Any individual can earn a B.S.Ed. degree in Early Childhood, Early Childhood Intervention Specialist, Middle Grades Education, or Intervention Specialist (Mild to Moderate and Moderate to Intensive Needs) at Elyria Center. Lorain County Community College ensures that individuals take the courses that will benefit the most while transferring to Ashland.

Mansfield Campus-

Mansfield campus at Ashland University offers courses in College of Nursing and Health Sciences. The College of Nursing & Health Sciences at Mansfield Campus is an award-winning college, state-of-the art Simulation Center, providing irreplaceable first-hand experiences to nursing students. Reputed nursing programs ranging from Traditional BSN to online DNP programs are fit for any career objective in nursing field. The campus is committed to provide advancing interdisciplinary health education and the essential skills needed to meet the needs of a rapidly changing environment globally. Libraries

Archer Library at Ashland University is an important part of the educational experience and an invaluable resource for students, faculty, staff, and alumni, but also for the broad community. Archer Library is the tallest building on campus, located at the west end of College Avenue.  The library is located at the main campus, it offers a wide range of books and other materials and services to support academic studies and enhance research work at Ashland University. The library has a vast collection of books, e-journals and e-books etc. University library is focused to provide high-quality library resources, programs, and services to the students. The library provides flexible and well-equipped surroundings to everyone’s research and learning needs. The library supports the student learning experience, creation and administration of knowledge, and also contributes to advancements in teaching and research programs.

Housing services

On-campus- Ashland University’s Residence Life office offers residential communities, where students from all over the country and the world live, learn and grow together. There are 9 residence halls and apartments on the Ashland University campus Each of Ashland’s University’s residential halls offers support and convenience, as well as opportunities for personal growth, cultural exploration, and interaction with all facilities and staff. The residence halls are- Amstutz Hall, Kem Hall, Clayton Hall, Andrews Hall, USA Hall, Myers Hall, Clark Hall, Jacobs Hall and Kilhefner Hall. The university’s residence halls are perfect for comfortable housing.  Students can select the room of their choice based on costs, hall facilities, location, availability.  Ashland University’s Student Health Centre at each campus provides medical services to students.
