You’ll study musical style, technique and theory throughout history and examine the evolving impact of music on society. Our Music History program centers on such areas as the place of music in different cultural contexts, the social condition of musicians, the evolution of performing styles, and the different ways music can project meaning and reflect identity.
Music History provides excellent preparation for graduate study in musicology and a wide range of professional training programs, including journalism, information sciences, arts administration, and teaching.

Profile Assessment: Creative-field applicants may be assessed through academic preparation, creative ability, visual thinking and, where required, a portfolio. The portfolio may include finished work as well as sketches, experimentation, process development and written explanations. Architecture may value Mathematics, Physics, drawing and spatial thinking, while Art, Design and Fashion programs may place greater emphasis on originality, technical development and the creative process.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school.
