The University of Memphis was started in 1912. It is a public research university located in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. It falls under the University System of Ohio.

University History

On 12 September 1912, the University of Memphis was founded. Initially, the institution was started as West Tennessee Normal School and its first president was Seymour A. Mynders. In 1925, the school’s name was changed to West Tennessee State Teachers College and in 1939, Richard C. Jones became president of the institution. In 1941, the institution was again renamed Memphis State College. In 1957, the institution was granted university status and changed its name to Memphis State University. On 1 July 1994, the university changed its name to the current name University of Memphis.

Print the application form confirmation page to bring to your interview
Photo – You will upload your photo while completing the online Form DS-160. Your photo must meet photograph requirements
Schedule an interview - at the U.S. embassy or consulate in the country where you live. You may schedule your interview at any U.S. embassy or consulate, but it may be difficult to qualify for a visa outside of your permanent residence.
