Auburn UniversityThe Bachelor of Music Performance in Commercial Music (Voice, Guitar, Bass, Percussion) prepares students for numerous careers throughout the music industry ecosystem. An audition is required. The program combines intensive applied study in commercial styles of performance with traditional musicianship training and music business courses to provide a comprehensive approach to career preparation in the commercial music field. Students are trained to achieve high levels of musical performance, communicate effectively as industry professionals, develop mature stage presence and charisma, and acquire skill in music marketing and promotion.

Profile Assessment: Creative-field applicants may be assessed through academic preparation, creative ability, visual thinking and, where required, a portfolio. The portfolio may include finished work as well as sketches, experimentation, process development and written explanations. Architecture may value Mathematics, Physics, drawing and spatial thinking, while Art, Design and Fashion programs may place greater emphasis on originality, technical development and the creative process.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school.
