The School of Music at Troy University is a vital part of a dynamic, global university. Focusing on musical excellence in the classroom and in the performance arena, the School of Music is committed to helping students become competent, caring music education professionals. The purpose of the graduate professional educator certification program in the School of Music is to provide advanced, specialized music education experiences that will assist graduate students in developing the musical skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed to begin/continue a viable career as a professional music educator.

Profile Assessment: Creative-field applicants may be assessed through academic preparation, creative ability, visual thinking and, where required, a portfolio. The portfolio may include finished work as well as sketches, experimentation, process development and written explanations. Architecture may value Mathematics, Physics, drawing and spatial thinking, while Art, Design and Fashion programs may place greater emphasis on originality, technical development and the creative process.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school.
