Troy University History

Troy University is an American public university part of the Troy University System located in Troy, Alabama. The university was initially a part of Alabama State University System and was established as Troy state Normal School in 1887. The school became a state teachers college in 1929 and state college in 1957 subsequently being named Troy State University in 1967. It adopted its present name in 2005 and currently enrols over 18000 students.
