Program Overview

Now in its 52nd year, The Guitar Program at The Hartt School is the oldest and most developed performance-based guitar program in the country. The goal is to graduate students who are well-prepared to enter the fields of concert performance and college teaching. Towards that end we hold weekly performance classes that are required of all performance majors. In addition, every year, we sponsor six to eight public performances as part of our Evening with Guitar concert series. This provides our students the opportunity to develop and refine their performance skills in a professional setting.

Additional Information & Requirements

Completed High School with a score of 70% (out of 100), IELTS of 6.0, TOEFL ibT of 80, Pearsons of 58, Letters of Recommendation, GCSE or GCE English Pass (syllabus A) with grade of A, B or C, Mathematics, Natural/Physical Science and Social Science, GPA of 2.75 (out of 4.0), IB English A1 or A2 with grade of 3 or higher, Academic Records and transcripts, IB English A1 or A2 with grade of 3 or higher, SAT Evidence based reading / writing 480 or higher.
