Program Overview

The philosophy regarding percussion education is to be as all-inclusive as possible. To that end, our students typically study solo, chamber and orchestral repertoire, as well as improvisation, drum-set, and percussion instruments from other cultures (particularly from Africa, the Middle East, Cuba, Brazil, and Trinidad). We routinely hire guest teachers with focused areas of expertise in order to compliment our more traditional offerings. As a result, Hartt percussion alumni have been very successful in finding a variety of jobs throughout the country.

Additional Information & Requirements

Completed High School with a score of 70% (out of 100), IELTS of 6.0, TOEFL ibT of 80, Pearsons of 58, Letters of Recommendation, GCSE or GCE English Pass (syllabus A) with grade of A, B or C, Mathematics, Natural/Physical Science and Social Science, GPA of 2.75 (out of 4.0), IB English A1 or A2 with grade of 3 or higher, Academic Records and transcripts, IB English A1 or A2 with grade of 3 or higher, SAT Evidence based reading / writing 480 or higher.
