The B.B.A. in Business Integrated Studies at the University of North Texas is designed for students who want to build a customized business degree by combining two business areas that match their career interests, such as economics and accounting, entrepreneurship and strategic management, information technology and finance, or marketing and human relations. Over four years and 120 credit hours, students develop broad business knowledge alongside communication, teamwork, ethical reasoning and critical-thinking skills, with the flexibility to shape their professional field with academic advising support.
Curriculum Structure
Year 1: Students begin by developing the academic and business foundations needed for upper-level study. Courses such as Professional Speaking, Writing, and Presentation in a Global Environment help build professional communication skills, while Business Statistics with Spreadsheets introduces statistical analysis, regression and spreadsheet-based decision-making.
Year 2: Students strengthen their understanding of core business functions and begin connecting different areas of business knowledge. Subjects such as Finance, which covers financial information and decision-making, and Organizational Behavior, which examines leadership, motivation, communication and workplace dynamics, provide a foundation for choosing complementary business subject areas.
Year 3: Students move further into their selected business areas and begin applying knowledge across disciplines. Foundations of Marketing Practice develops skills in market opportunities, strategic planning, product development, pricing, distribution and promotion, while upper-level business courses allow students to develop the two subject areas selected with their academic advisor.
Year 4: The final year emphasizes advanced business study and integration across multiple disciplines. Students complete upper-level professional-field coursework, including an approved course addressing the creation of goods and services and an international business course, while at least 15 of the professional-field hours are completed at the 4000 level, giving students an opportunity to connect their chosen areas to broader business and global contexts.
