Founded in 1890, UNT is a public research institution located in Denton, Texas which is about 35 miles from Dallas. UNT is the flagship institution of the University of North Texas System, which includes additional universities in Dallas and Fort Worth. UNT also has a satellite campus in Frisco.

The university offers more than 100 bachelors, 80 masters and 35 doctoral degree programs through its 13 colleges and schools: College of Business; College of Education; College of Engineering; College of Health and Public Service; Honors College; College of Information; School of Journalism; College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences; College of Merchandising, Hospitality & Tourism; College of Music; College of Science; College of Visual Arts and Design and Toulouse Graduate School. The university follows a semester based academic calendar. The most popular majors at University of North Texas include: Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services; Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies; Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities; Visual and Performing Arts; and Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs.

The total student population at the university is more than 37,000 of which over 30,000 are enrolled in the undergraduate courses. The student to faculty ratio is 25:1 and the acceptance rate is 70%.

The university partnered with ONCAMPUS Texas that offers University Transfer Program (UTP). UTP prepares the students for successful progression to year-2 of a U.S. degree. It offers a guaranteed progression (on fulfillment of the specified criteria) to University of North Texas on successful completion of its University Transfer Program.

1. Adam Grace Rugby Memorial Scholarship

The Adam Grace Rugby Memorial Scholarship is awarded to the full time undergraduate students pursuing studies at University of North Texas. The scholarship is awarded by the Student Financial Aid & Scholarships.

Eligibility Criteria/ Scholarship Guidelines:
To be eligible, an applicant:

- Should be an undergraduate student pursuing studies at the university.
- Should have minimum GPA of 3.25
- Should have minimum Total Credit Hours of 12 at UNT.

Note: Should be an active member in good standing of the UNT Rugby Club and must have played intramural rugby at UNT for at least one semester.

2. Aftab and Nancy Shaikh Scholarship

The Aftab and Nancy Shaikh Scholarship is awarded to the full time undergraduate students pursuing any major at University of North Texas. The scholarship is awarded by the Student Financial Aid & Scholarships.

Eligibility Criteria/ Scholarship Guidelines:
To be eligible, an applicant:

- Should be an undergraduate student pursuing any major at the university.
- Should have minimum GPA of 3.25 and must have Top 25% of High School Rank
- Should have SAT score of 1100 and ACT score of 24
- Should demonstrate financial need
