The Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) program in Computer Science is a two-semester professional degree program designed to enhance practical skills. It roughly involves six courses and a project.
Flexible requirements make it possible to realize a broad range of CS-related career possibilities. The program is energized by the diversity of research within the department and across the campus. If you majored in CS or a related field as an undergraduate, then the program can be used to deepen your technical expertise.

Profile Assessment: Applicants are generally expected to demonstrate strong quantitative ability, particularly in Mathematics. Advanced Calculus, Statistics, Computer Science or Physics can support academic preparation. Coding projects, applications, websites, hackathons, research, data-analysis projects and technology-based solutions may demonstrate technical curiosity and practical ability. Previous coding experience is helpful but is not compulsory at every university.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school. Relevant APs can strengthen an application and may earn university credit, but are not compulsory unless the university or programme explicitly requires them.Extracurricular activities: Estimated extracurricular contribution: 15–25%. Cornell considers activities alongside academic rigour, essays, recommendations and alignment with the selected Cornell college.
