Additional Information & Requirements

• Other Deadline details: SAT/ACT Scores: Request to be sent by the application deadline (Oct 15 for Early Action, Jan 1 for Regular Decision); scores take 2–4 weeks to arrive. Other Materials (Transcripts, Recommendations): Due 2 weeks after the application deadline. • SAT/ACT Update: SAT/ACT scores are required for First Year and Dual Enrollment applicants (Spring/Summer/Fall 2022 onward). Scores must be sent electronically by the testing agency; transcripts and paper reports are not accepted. UGA does not require or consider the SAT/ACT essay. Minimum required scores (per Board of Regents): SAT: 480 EBRW, 440 Math ACT: 17 English/Reading, 17 Math
• SAT/ACT Score reporting: UGA superscores the SAT and ACT (best section scores considered). Most admitted students score well above the minimums. Starting April 2025 (digital) and September 2025 (all formats), the ACT will make the Science section optional and exclude it from the composite score. UGA superscores both the ACT and SAT by taking your highest section scores across test dates. For ACT, UGA calculates a composite using the best English, Math, and Reading scores: (English + Math + Reading) ÷ 3. Official ACT superscores are also accepted. For SAT, the highest Evidence-Based Reading & Writing (EBRW) and Math scores are combined for a superscored total. While UGA accepts scores from both tests, it does not mix them (e.g., SAT Math + ACT English). UGA only considers your strongest results and uses scores that reflect your best effort. There’s no preference between SAT and ACT, and students are encouraged to try both. High scores can support your application, but GPA and course rigor remain the most important factors. To send scores, use code 0872 for ACT (via MyACT) and 5813 for SAT (via MySAT).
• English Language Proficiency: If you're applying as a First Year student, you’ll need to show English proficiency—most students do this through their SAT or ACT scores, which must meet the minimum set by Georgia’s Board of Regents. These scores usually cover the English requirement, and many applicants go well beyond the minimum. To strengthen their application, some students also submit IELTS or TOEFL scores. For context, the average scores for admitted international students in recent years were: SAT EBRW: 650, ACT English: 30, IELTS: 7.5, and TOEFL: 102.
• Scholarships details: All scholarships are renewable for eight semesters of full-time enrollment, or the completion of a Bachelor’s degree. • Additional details: UGA doesn’t have fixed GPA or test score cutoffs—admission is competitive and depends on the quality of the applicant pool each year. Early Action and Regular Decision applicants are reviewed the same way; the difference is simply timing. For Early Action, UGA considers grades through junior year, the rigor of your coursework, and SAT or ACT scores submitted by October 15 (or by January 1 for Regular Decision).
