Program Overview

The Computer Science + Animal Sciences degree at UIUC is an innovative interdisciplinary program jointly offered by the Siebel School of Computing and Data Science (Grainger College of Engineering) and the Department of Animal Sciences (College of Agricultural, Consumer, and Environmental Sciences). It integrates computational methods with biological and agricultural sciences to solve complex challenges in animal health, food systems, and sustainability.

  • Year 1: Intro to Comp Science I & II, Computer Science Orientation, Calculus I & II, Intro to Animal Science, General Chemistry I 

  • Year 2: Data Structures, Software Design Lab, General Chemistry II, General Chemistry Lab II, Cells, Metabolism, and Genetics, Animal Nutrition, Animal Reproduction, General Education Elective

  • Year 3: Systems Programming, Linear Algebra, Basic Animal Sciences Courses, Applied Animal Sciences Courses, Prob and Stat for Comp Sci, General Education Electives

  • Year 4: Progrmg Languages & Compilers, Basic Animal Sciences Courses, Applied Animal Sciences Courses, General Education Electives
