Program Overview

The Bachelor of Science with a major in middle grades education degree prepares students to work in grades 4-8. Middle level candidates select two teaching field concentrations. All middle level cohorts begin in the fall semester. During the fall placement of the senior year, candidates are assigned to selected area schools and expected to attend preplanning along with the classroom teachers.

International applicants who are considered as a traditional freshman graduated from high school less than 5 years ago or considered as a freshman/transfer graduated from high school less than 5 years ago and have less than 30 transferable college hours must submit official SAT or ACT scores, TOEFL score of 550 paper-based or 213 computer-based testing or 79 internet-based testing, IELTS score of 6.5, SAT Evidence Based Reading/Writing score of 480, or ACT English score of 17, or ACT reading score of 17, EIKEN score of Pre-1, MELAB score of 77, FCE, Advanced CAE or Proficiency CPE score of 176 CPE = 180, CIE IGCSE and O Level English exams score of D or better, UK GCSE English exam score of C or better, UK GCE A-Level English exam score of C or better, EdExcel International A-Levels and IGCSE English exams score of D or better, Pearson PTE Academic score of 58
