The B.A.E. degree with a major in mathematics education prepares graduates to be eligible for certification in Mississippi to teach mathematics in grades 7-12. Graduates may also teach other subjects by gaining supplemental endorsements. (See an advisor for more information.)
Official English language transcripts from secondary school(s) attended; degree certificate if already graduated, Copy of passport identification pages, Affidavit of Financial Support, Test scores : Minimum total score of 79 on the TOEFL-IBT ) or Minimum overall band score: 6.00 on the IELTS test, a composite ACT score of 22 or higher (or 1020 or higher on the old SAT Critical Reading/Mathematics only or 1100 on the new SAT), US universities use a holistic admissions review. Beyond grades and standardized test scores, they weigh the strength of your overall profile to understand who you are as a student and a person.
Profile Assessment: Applicants are generally assessed on their preparation in English, social sciences, research and quantitative reasoning. Statistics may be particularly helpful for Psychology, Education Research, Public Policy and other research-based programs.
