As a Physical Education major, you ll learn the science and theory behind teaching and coaching in the K-12 schools, so you can teach today s students the joy of being active, and the importance of developing physical activity skills that will last a lifetime. When combined with a strength and conditioning emphasis, this major will also give you an understanding of physical training methods necessary to enhance athletic performance.Learn to keep young people active as you develop your teaching style through experiences in local public schools and TCU laboratory schools.Learn the fundamentals of human movement, then reinforce that knowledge in the field, by observing physical education classes in local schools and completing a semester of student-teaching.Earn a teaching certification that will allow you to teach physical education grades K-12 and coach at the middle/high school levels.
