The Science Education major prepares you to teach in junior and senior high schools (grades 7-12). This four-year program allows you to choose from these fields: Chemistry, Earth Science, Earth Science/Chemistry, Earth Science/Life Science, Earth Science/Physics, Life Science, Life Science/Chemistry, Life Science/Physics, or Physical Science. The program provides theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in the areas of science, learning, and science teaching that are consistent with the National Science Teaching Standards, especially in the areas of inquiry, science-society-technology, and evolution.

US universities use a holistic admissions review. Beyond grades and standardized test scores, they weigh the strength of your overall profile to understand who you are as a student and a person.
Profile Assessment: Applicants are generally assessed on their preparation in English, social sciences, research and quantitative reasoning. Statistics may be particularly helpful for Psychology, Education Research, Public Policy and other research-based programs. Volunteering, tutoring, community projects, advocacy, research, student leadership and activities involving communication or social issues may strengthen the application.Essays & recommendations: Personal essays and teacher/counselor recommendations give context to your achievements and help demonstrate fit with the program.Science Teacher
