Program Overview

The Printmaking emphasis covers the history of the artistic process from 15th-century technology to contemporary methods. The curriculum also gives an equal amount of attention to the ideas and technique behind the art form. To hone your printmaking skills, you'll have access to cutting-edge facilities including three etching presses, two stone lithography presses, three relief presses, a process camera, a professional photomechanical darkroom, scanners, laser and large format color printers. In the program, you'll also have the opportunity to practice drawing, two-dimensional problem-solving and color theory. The Printmaking program at Western Colorado University doesn't merely reflect the trends of the printmaking world; it has been known to set them.
