Program Overview

​The University of Minnesota Twin Cities offers a comprehensive Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics (BAEM) program through its College of Science and Engineering. This program is designed to equip students with a strong foundation in aerospace principles, preparing them for dynamic careers in the aerospace industry.

The BAEM program focuses on the design, analysis, and testing of aircraft and spacecraft. Year 1: Foundations

  • Calculus I & II, General Chemistry and Lab, Physics for Science and Engineering I, Introduction to Engineering, First-Year Writing and Liberal Education courses

Year 2: Core Engineering Principles

  • Calculus III, Differential Equations, Physics for Science and Engineering II, Mechanics of Materials, Thermodynamics and Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics (AEM) courses

Year 3: Specialised Aerospace Topics

  • Fluid Mechanics, Aerodynamics, Propulsion, Flight Dynamics, Control Systems and Technical Electives

Year 4: Capstone and Advanced Studies
