Program Overview

The CEE curriculum at UMass Lowell is designed to prepare students for practice in Civil & Environmental Engineering at a professional level in the public or private sectors, and/or for advanced graduate studies. Students are given broad training in each of four specialty areas in CEE: environmental, structural, geotechnical and transportation engineering. Extensive hands-on laboratory experiences exist in each of the specialty areas, plus surveying. The program requires successful completion of 128 credits, most of which are core required courses. There are with two professional electives and five open General Education electives (a sixth GenEd elective must be Economics I).
