Program Overview

Environmental Engineering is the application of engineering principles to improve and maintain the environment for the protection of human health and at-risk ecosystems. In the past, environmental engineers worked to provide clean drinking water, safely manage wastes, and clean the air we breathe. Today, environmental engineers still do all that while leading interdisciplinary teams who are crafting solutions to the planet's greatest challenges, which stem from producing energy and food for our ever-increasing world population.
