Program Overview

This nationally recognized interdisciplinary engineering program is offered in cooperation with The Hartt School. This ABET-accredited program focuses on the application of modern engineering design to the field of acoustics in such areas as architectural design, loudspeaker & audio equipment design, musical instrument design, environmental noise regulations, noise and vibration control of machines, bioengineering of hearing aids, and sound quality. Those who pursue the field of engineering to study acoustics have many career areas in which to choose. To be accepted into the Acoustical Engineering and Music program, applicants must have the math and science background required of all engineering students and must successfully pass the entrance requirements of The Hartt School - including the audition.
