The department offers a B.S. in Geology with Emphasis in Engineering Geology. This emphasis has been designed to meet the increasing demand for geoscientists who are trained in the acquisition, interpretation, and use of earth materials (rock, soil, ground water) for the solution of engineering problems. The emphasis provides geologists with specific training that will enable them to effectively interact with and support engineers. The curriculum involves additional coursework in math, physics, and engineering. By completing this curriculum, candidates will automatically complete the requirements for a Minor in Engineering.
Completed application for admission, A high school diploma (official transcript with graduation date required), An Overall Grade Point Average of at least 2.00 on a 4.00 scale and a composite score of at least 19 on the ACT or SAT equivalent; OR an Overall Grade Point Average of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale and a composite score of at least 16 on the ACT or SAT equivalent, Test scores: Internet-based TOEFL score of 78 or higher, Paper-based TOEFL score of 547 or higher, IELTS score of 6.0 or higher, MELAB - minimum score of 79%.
