Program Overview

The English Department offers students five concentrations: (1) Literatures and Criticism, (2) Creative Writing, (3) English: Foundations for Adolescent Education, (4) English Language Arts (ELA), and (5) Linguistics and Rhetoric. After taking ENGL 22000 Introduction to Writing about Literature, required of all students and a pre-requisite for all other courses in the major, students take thirty-nine credits (13 classes) of courses at the 300- and 400- level.
