Environmental Studies explores the complex interactions between humans and nature. This exploration requires grounding in the natural sciences, humanities and social sciences.Courses examine climate change, loss of biodiversity and the depletion of natural resources worldwide. Study the physical and biological processes involved, as well as the complex ways these processes interact with cultural, political and economic forces.
Common Application, Coalition Application OR QuestBridge Application, Amherst College Writing Supplement, School Report, Secondary School Transcript high school diploma or its recognized equivalent is required before enrolling at Amherst College, Counselor Recommendation, Two Teacher Recommendations, Standardized Test Results, either self-reported or official, for the SAT or ACT, English Proficiency Requirements: 100 on the internet-based TOEFL iBT: 25 or above recommended for each section, 75 on the paper-delivered TOEFL: 25 or above recommended for each section, 7.5 overall band score on IELTS Academic: 7.5 or above recommended for each component score
