The classical studies department offers courses in Latin and ancient Greek, ranging from elementary to advanced levels. These courses may also be taken by non-majors to fulfill the non-native language requirements of the General Education Program (GEP). Advanced courses cover the works of major authors and all literary genres, featuring a comprehensive exploration of both language and culture. In addition to courses in Latin and ancient Greek, you can also explore courses in translation that examine important aspects of classical antiquity, from mythology and religion to sports and material culture.
