The Concentration in Chinese Language is designed for beginning language learners with little or no background in Chinese Language. The program places emphasis on the building of proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (putonghua/guoyu) and an appreciation and understanding of literature and culture.

Complete high school transcript and proof of high school graduation with Minimum 2.5 GPA. TOEFL iBT Total Score 61, or IELTS Overall Score 6.0. SAT score of 550 in Evidence Based Reading and Writing section, ACT English Score 22, Financial Affidavit Form, proof of finances, and passport copy, SAT and ACT scores are not required, but they may be helpful.
