Program Overview

Emphasis on the use of the correct spoken and written Modern, Standard Portuguese on an Advanced level. Through readings focusing on the cultural and linguistic heritage of the Portuguese-speaking world, students will expand and solidify their grammar, vocabulary, and knowledge of Portuguese language as well as the history and civilization of the Lusophone world, from mainly Portugal, the Azores, and Madeira, to Brazil, Lusophone Africa and Asia, including the Portuguese/Lusophone Diaspora throughout the world. This is an intensive, advanced-language course.

Additional Information & Requirements

High school transcripts, two letters of recommendation and a GPA of 3.83. If GPA is at or below the school average of 3.83, you'll need a higher SAT or ACT score to compensate. A minimum score of 90 on the TOEFL; OR. A minimum score of 6.5 on the IELTS; OR. A minimum score of 61 on the PTE Academic.
