It is also the second language in the United States, with an increasing political, economic, and cultural influence in the country. Fluency in the Spanish language and knowledge of the culture(s) of the Spanish-speaking world is key to being competitive in the increasingly multilingual world of the 21st century.

Hofstra University's BA in Spanish helps students improve their communicative skills while enhancing their understanding of the culture, literature, history, linguistics, and politics of the Spanish-speaking world --globally and in the U.S.
