Students graduating from this program will:Students will gain an understanding of the theoretical framework and distinct visions and goals of the labor movement in the United States historically and at present.Students will understand the strategic challenges working people and organized labor face today and faced in the past in the U.S. and in the global economy. They will develop ability to do critical analysis on strategy and tactics historically, through critical research on the global economy, and by developing the skills of strategic planning in a contemporary context.Students will develop skills in labor negotiation, in labor organizing and mobilization, and in union leadership all within the confines of law and practice.
