All options in this major are by special arrangement. The available options are as follows; American Studies, Ancient and Medieval Studies, Asian and Asian Diaspora Studies, Latin American and Latino/a Studies, Russian and Eurasian Studies, Women's and Gender Studies.

Extracurricular activities: Estimated extracurricular contribution15–25%. MIT values hands-on creativity, collaboration, initiative, and problem-solving. Strong activities may include technical projects, research, robotics, coding, entrepreneurship, competitions or community initiatives. However, MIT also values employment, family responsibilities, arts, sports and activities pursued simply because the student enjoys them.Profile Assessment: Undergraduate applicants interested in law may choose Pre-Law, Political Science, Economics, History, Philosophy, International Relations or another field. Debate, Model United Nations, mock trials, student government, journalism, advocacy, research and community service may demonstrate critical thinking and communication.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school.
