Yale UniversityHistory of Science, Medicine, and Public Health is an interdisciplinary program that focuses on how different forms of knowledge and technology have been created in various times, places, and cultures, and how they have shaped the modern world. The major explores a wide range of questions. Is science universal, or does each culture have its own approach to trustworthy knowledge? What is the relationship between medical expertise, social and racial inequality, and everyday life? What is the nature of technology and its relationship to political, economic, and military power? Why do even the best public health campaigns have unintended consequences?

Profile Assessment: Undergraduate applicants interested in law may choose Pre-Law, Political Science, Economics, History, Philosophy, International Relations or another field. Debate, Model United Nations, mock trials, student government, journalism, advocacy, research and community service may demonstrate critical thinking and communication.Extracurricular activities: Estimated extracurricular contribution: 20–25%. Yale values meaningful engagement, positive contribution, curiosity and character. Admissions officers consider how applicants used the opportunities available in their school, family and community. Authenticity and sustained commitment generally matter more than the number of activities listed.Advanced Placement(AP) Guidance: AP availability depends on the student's school.
